MISSIONS SUPPORT both in money and manpower are at the fabric of our church. Just some of the ways we support missions are as follows:
Missions Giving
MVC has a world wide mission. Faith Promise is an act of faith in which we promise God we will give a specific amount to world evangelism through regular weekly, monthly, or annual giving. This faith offering is given in addition to the tithe, and is one of the ways we support world evangelism. An international dinner is a featured part of our annual Faith Promise Weekend.
Foreign Mission Trips
Work & Witness is a program which sends teams to every region of the world to partner with local churches in construction projects, technical needs, evangelism and compassionate ministries. Since its inception in 1974 more than 5000 years of labor has been donated worldwide. Most recently several of our members spent time in Africa helping to rebuild an educational facility.
Building Churches Worldwide
Giving to this specific ministry is very special. EVERY cent goes to the field. Twice yearly, we give an Alabaster Offering, which provides funds for property and buildings around the world. Alabaster funds help provide land for many Work & Witness projects, and the entire Alabaster Offering goes toward the purchase of land and construction of churches, schools, medical facilities, and homes for missionaries and national workers.
Emergency / Disaster Kits
Join with us and help promote and pack these kits for world wide distribution. In recent years the kits have even been sent to needy areas of the United States. Providing Crisis Care Kits, kits comprised of personal hygiene items, is another arm of our missional outreach. Kits are assembled by local churches, sent to regional warehouses, and distributed around the world, usually following disasters. Among the places kits have been distributed are Belize, California, Dominican Republic, Kansas, Haiti, Jamaica, Jordon, Louisiana, Philippines, Senegal, Sri Lanka, Ukraine, and Zambia.
